I want to say thank you to all of you neighbors and friends in St. Albans who voted for me, supported my candidacy and made it possible for me to serve this wonderful community again in the Vermont House.
I want to say thank you to all of you neighbors and friends in St. Albans who voted for me, supported my candidacy and made it possible for me to serve this wonderful community again in the Vermont House. For those of you who shared your concerns and hopes during the last few months who didn’t vote for me, I’m going to have my door, my ears, and my email inbox (email@example.com) wide open. Please don’t hesitate to reach out. The job is to represent you, whether you voted for me or not and I take that responsibility very seriously.
Congratulations to Casey Toof, who ran a positive campaign and who was always friendly and courteous despite our different party labels and differing views on some of the issues of the day. We have a lot more in common than divides us, and I will work with Casey to make sure we are a team that St. Albans can be proud of.
Kate Larose put her heart and soul into reaching out to people in the community, encouraging everyone to tell their stories. One person came up to me on Election Day and said they voted for Kate (and not for me) because she was so focused on listening. I will work to be a better listener and honor Kate’s incredible, joyful campaign.
Thanks to Jim Fitzgerald as well for his campaign and for his many years of service to St. Albans. I look forward to many more conversations with Jim about the future and the history of St. Albans and Vermont.
I heard from folks on Election Day that this campaign season has been too long, and that it’s been discouraging to many people about the state of our politics. I look forward to serving in a way that bridges the partisan divide, gives a voice to those who feel frustrated and restores hope in our government. Vermont is a special place, and St. Albans is a special community. I’m so glad to have the honor of representing you in Montpelier next year. Thank you for that opportunity. I won’t let you down.
